Wound dressings are essential in the wound treatment since they are capable of creating the optimal conditions for wound healing. The immediate wound coverage is the basis of wound treatment: it protects against external aggressions and dehydration while the skin regenerates naturally, forming new tissue through a complex cellular process. The humidity management in the wound bed is a critical factor in its treatment. If in one hand the low humidity in the wound bed will let it dry, forming a physical barrier for cells migration, on the other hand the exudate in excess must be absorbed, avoiding its accumulation and solidification in the wound bed. |
Absorki
Presentation:
Absorki® is a soft and absorbent dressing. AbsorKi® is composed of chitosan, a biopolymer with proved healing properties. AbsorKi® is presented in 10 cm x 7 cm or 7 cm x 5 cm patches.
Applications:
Absorki® is intended for the humidity management of the wound bed, due to its capability of absorbing the exsudate of the wound, but without letting it dry. Absorki® is intended for the management of traumatic wounds, surgical wounds, major wounds with exudate, or in the management of infected wounds (it is necessary an additional treatment). Absorki® is also indicated for the management of chronic vascular wounds and pressure ulcers, superficial and second degree burn wounds, minor abrasions, lacerations, cuts and scalds.
Hidroki
Presentation:
Hidroki® is an hydrogel composed of chitosan and with a high content of apyrogenic water. HidroKi® is intended as a primary dressing and it offers a local pain relief. Hidroki® is presented in 10 cm x 7 cm or 7 cm x 5 cm patches.
Applications:
Hidroki® is intended, as a primary dressing, to cover wounds or burns dehydrated and without exudates, keeping a moistened environment and allowing the autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue. Hidroki® also protects the wound against abrasion, friction, desiccation and external contaminations.
Hemoki
Presentation:
Hemoki® is a chitosan haemostatic dressing. Chitosan is a biopolymer with haemostatic properties, which reduces the time required to stop the wound bleeding. Hemoki® is presented in 10 cm x 7 cm or 7 cm x 5 cm patches.
Applications:
Hemoki® is intended for the management of hemorrhagic wounds, such as vascular access sites and in case of percutaneous catheters or tubes removal. Hemoki® is also indicated for the management of lacerations, abrasions and nasal bleedings. Hemoki® is effective in patients on anti-coagulation therapy or on hemodialysis.
